Mother! is the story of a young woman in a relationship with an older man. The man is a famous poet who is experiencing a writer's block. With an up and coming deadline tensions are high for him. The young woman spends her day renovating their old broken down home.They live peacefully in the countryside, that is until a stranger arrives. Soon after he invites his whole family and overstay their welcome. The woman who has only been called Mother, increasingly becomes frustrated at the conduct in which her guests are behaving. As the guest keep causing the house harm, Mother and the Poet are at odds due to the poet always defending the guest. As the poet's deadline approaches and tensions rise in the house, this psychological thriller uses heavy religious symbols to portray one of the most anxiety inducing movies I have ever seen.
